Fears about ‘frightening’ potential for private provider to create ‘fast and slow lanes’ A Department of Home Affairs plan to outsource visa processing will lead to increased automation and “premium” services that could undermine the integrity of the system, a former senior immigration official has warned. The ACT Government is contacting its previously nominated 190 visa holders to ensure they have complied with their commitment of living and working in the ACT for two years following visa grant. The ACT Government may refer non-compliant visa holders to Home Affairs as part of its annual reporting. ACT nominated 190 visa holders who have not complied with their commitment may receive notices of intention to consider cancellation from Home Affairs.
